SPRING
The spring season begins the first week in April and finishes in May. The season focuses on skill development and gaining an understanding of the game. There is also a focus on advanced individual skills and team strategies.
SUMMER
The summer season practices begin in June and ends the third week of July. The Lyons Water Polo Summer League offers practices and competitions during the summer. Practices are held on Mondays and Wedensdays with games being held of Fridays. This is a great introduction to the sport for our area athletes.
The summer season also provides for many opportunities to play other competitive teams at weekend tournaments. There are several area tournaments that we will attend but we will also compete at the National Junior Olympics.
FALL
The fall season begins the third week of August and concludes the last week of October. The fall season offers many opportunities our teams to compete against other area teams on the weekends. Practices are held on Monday and Wednesday evenings. The games will be held on either a Saturday or Sunday at area pools (including LTHS). The season concludes with the teams competing in the Midwest Speedo Cup Championships.
WINTER
The winter season begins the first week in November and ends the third week of February. Practices are held on Wednesday evenings. All players are welcome to participate and learn the game for the first time or continue to develop their skills. The winter season practices continue to build upon the basic skills of water polo and work towards more advanced tactics. A portion of every practice will allow for scrimmages since there will not be as many opportunities to play games against other teams.
